After GDC the team flew off to London to get a chance to show the game at EGX Rezzed! We were welcomed by a large Mushroom 11 poster which was looked amazing and we had a lot of people waiting to play too. Check out the other games that showed here.
Next week the whole Mushroom 11 team will be in San Francisco for the Game Developers Conference where we will get to show off Mushroom 11 as part of the Indie MEGABOOTH. In addition, Kara, Itay and Julia will be giving talks there as well. If you’re planning to attend we hope to see you there!
Over the weekend, we participated in this year’s Global Game Jam. Using it as an excuse to learn new things we decided to try a physical card game. Niiwin (Nee-win) is a two player card game that also teaches some Anishinaabemowin, an indigenous language in the Northern US and Canada. It ended up winning Best Game Design at NYU’s Game Jam site! We didn’t plan for this to happen in our very relaxed puzzle game, but it did and it was a lot of fun! Here are two people fighting for 2nd place. The goal was to be the fastest to get through our first level. The best time? A whopping 4 minutes and 10 seconds! But don’t worry, we’ll encourage playing of all speeds.
